Suitable for fitment to Triumph models with 7/8″ handlebars, this switch can be mounted to non-drilled handlebars as a retaining clip is supplied with the switch. Can also be used on other makes and models where an economical high/low beam headlamp switch is desired. Included is a sheathed wiring harness. Sourced from Emgo, this economical handlebar switch is chrome plated and features the prominent horn button, as specified for many unit-construction Triumph twin models through 1970. The wires are color coded to differentiate switch functions and are protected with a grey sheath. Many aftermarket handlebars are not drilled for the original mounting arrangement that used a rubber pad and self-tapping screws. This switch provides an easy solution for attachment to a non-drilled handlebar. The toggle switch selects the headlamp beam, and the horn button is pressed to sound the horn. The switch assembly is simply clipped to the handlebar at the desired position. Generally, Lucas-type bullet connectors are soldered or crimped onto the wires once the desired length of wire is determined and terminate inside the headlamp shell. A multimeter can be useful to determine which wire colors are used to operate switch functions and the horn button.
