Intro to Ponte di Rialto Prosecco – Ponte di Rialto Prosecco Spumante Brut is a deliciously light refreshing Italian sparkling wine made from the Glera grape. It is a crisp wine with a soft finish and a mouthful of bubbles that is great value. Full tasting note and wine making – Ponte di Rialto Prosecco Spumante Brut is made from selected parcels of Glera grapes grown northeast of Treviso in the Veneto region of north east Italy. They are handpicked at optimum ripeness to give the required balance between aromatic notes and good acidity. They are gently pressed followed by slow, cool fermentation in stainless steel after which the second fermentation in pressure tanks, lasting 4 weeks producing a crisp refreshing wine with a zesty fruity fizz. It has a lovely fresh aroma of green apples and honeysuckle with a delicate citrussy palate that is balanced and great value. The producer – The Ponte di Rialto Prosecco is made by Adria Vini which is a winemaking venture jointly owned by Boutinot and Araldica Castelvero that was established in 2003. It is the leading co-operative in the Monferrato hills of Piemonte and aims to produce authentic, well-priced still and sparkling wines from local grape varieties. All aspects of production, from grape selection through to vinification, maturation, blending and bottling are meticulously overseen by Araldica’s winemaking team of Claudio Manera, Lella Burdese and Carlo Manera. Production is 12 million bottles annually and the wines are exported to more than 20 countries worldwide. The co-operative sources grapes from a range of private growers and other cooperatives, with whom we have long term relationships, principally in Veneto, Friuli, Lombardy, Sicily, Puglia, Abruzzo and Sardinia.
