Range drawer guide attachment? This set of 250kg drawer guides can be mounted at a 90° angle to the bottom or ceiling using our floor brackets BS1B-UNI-1. These are not included as standard with the drawer guides and must be added separately to the shopping cart. The brackets are designed in such a way that you have the choice of having the lip protrude under the drawer or on the side of the drawer. The fasteners are compact, so that no threaded end protrudes on the outside. You can even attach two drawer runners to either side of one bracket. Ideal for multiple drawers next to each other in, for example, a camper or commercial vehicle! If you want multiple drawers on top of each other, you can easily and quickly achieve this with the help of these high brackets BS1B-UNI-3. The floor brackets also contribute to the ease of use. Even professionals, who could also screw the drawer runners directly to the inner walls of a casing, choose our floor brackets for the following reason; Adjusting the drawer runners is, as you can read under the ‘Assembly’ heading, a difficult and precise job. The space between the casing and the drawer may deviate minimally from the regulations and the mounting position against both side walls must also be aligned with each other. It takes a lot of frustration and time to get this done. However, you can save this by using our floor brackets. You mount the drawer and the floor brackets to the runners and then place the whole thing in the casing. After sliding the drawer open and closed once, the runners are properly aligned with each other and all you have to do is screw the brackets to the bottom. Ideal! Mounting a drawer or shelf? You can screw or bolt the inner profile of the drawer runners directly to the side of a drawer. However, there are situations in which our aluminum drawer brackets BS1B-UNI-2 are desirable. These angle profiles support the drawer, which relieves the drawer wall and can therefore be made of a thinner material. You could even leave out the side walls, creating a pull-out tray between the guides. Apart from the extra options, the brackets also contribute to the adjustment. After all, you do not have to screw both guides to an identical height against a drawer wall. After mounting the brackets, you simply place the drawer on the brackets and screw it to them. It couldn’t be easier! Without locking? These Heavy Duty drawer runners are NOT equipped with a locking function, which allows the drawer to move freely. This is often desirable for indoor or workshop applications. For drawers in vehicles, the same variant WITH open and closed position locking is often chosen. This locking function blocks movement in both closed and open positions. This function is intended to prevent unwanted movements, for example in a commercial vehicle while driving, or for a pull-out kitchen unit in a camper. The same length WITH lock is the BS2L-250-1500. How much weight can a drawer with these runners carry? One set of these drawer runners can carry 250kg. This applies in both retracted and extended positions and if the weight is evenly distributed over the length. If the weight is only placed deep in the drawer, these runners can carry approximately 115% = 285kg. The maximum point load at the front of the drawer is around 70% = 175kg. Don’t forget to include the drawer’s own weight in your weight calculation. If necessary, place partitions in the drawer to ensure that heavy contents cannot slide forward. This will benefit the drawer runners. You can also choose not to let the drawer runners extend as far as possible, but to stop the movement earlier. This limits the arm of the protruding weight, which means that the runners can handle a greater load compared to a maximum extension. Horizontal or vertical use of the drawer runners? The previously mentioned loads apply if you use the drawer runners as standard (vertically), i.e. mount them against side walls. You can also mount the drawer runners flat (horizontally) under the drawer, but this does have a negative effect on the maximum load and the deflection. The maximum weight to be carried decreases by 60% and the front of the drawer will deflect a few centimeters instead of millimeters when extended, assuming the same weight. But now an even bigger disadvantage that is often not thought about. A flat-mounted drawer runner is very sensitive to dirt. When the drawer opens, the middle and largest profile is exposed as a kind of elongated and greased container. The ball cage between the middle and largest profile is also exposed to, for example, blowing sand. If it remains with some sand, these drawer runners with their large 8mm balls will continue to work, but the movement will not become smoother. What does a drawer runner thickness of 19.1mm 0.8 mean? The drawer runners must be placed without tension between the drawer and the casing. Tension occurs when the parts of the runners are pulled apart in the direction of thickness, or pressed together. In order to achieve a smooth movement, the distance between the drawer and the side walls of the cabinet must remain within the range of 19.1 to 19.9 mm. If the gap deviates from this, friction occurs, which results in a stiff operation of the runners. In addition to a smooth movement, the stability of the drawer is also important. The more space the runners have, the more unstable the drawer becomes. In other words: the closer the gap is to 19.1 mm, the more stable the drawer. An example of this is that a drawer with a gap of 19.8 mm will show more lateral movement (unwanted) when extended than with a gap of 19.2 mm. In both cases, the drawer moves smoothly. So we advertise 19.1 mm because, given both aspects, that is the ideal gap. The addition 0.8 / -0 indicates how much the size may deviate from that.
