The Pazon PA2 Sure-Fire electronic ignition kit eliminates the points, condensers, and mechanical advance units in the 1960s and 1970s-era British twins, resulting in easier starting, smoother running, and less maintenance. The kit can also be retrofitted to later Triumph models originally specified with the Lucas Rita ignition system. Compatible with 12 volt electrical systems, and can be used with either positive or negative earth polarity. The Pazon PA2 ignition system is a top quality kit comprised of the pick-up plate, machined aluminum magnetic rotor, and a sealed compact ignition module featuring a 1 meter run of wires to the coils, pick-up plate, and ignition switch. An attractive feature of the PA2 ignition is that it will operate on voltage as low as 8 volts without over-advancing, and minimizes ‘kickback’ on low-voltage starts. Made in New Zealand, the PA2 ignition kit carries a 7.5 year warranty. The PA2 ignition system offers a substantial upgrade by eliminating the maintenance associated with the contact points and mechanical advance units of yesteryear. The direct wiring from the ignition module to the coils, pick-up plate, and ignition switch allows for greater flexibility of mounting locations for the module and eliminates the connection problems that can plague other electronic ignition systems using ‘snap connectors’ or pin connectors. Two 6 volt coils wired in series, or a dual-lead 12 volt coil with a system resistance of 4-7 ohms will optimize the performance of the PA2 ignition system. The charging system must be in good operating condition to allow the battery to fully power the ignition system, as is the case with any electronic ignition system. The kit is supplied with all of the necessary connectors, cable ties, and rotor fixing cap screws in both 26 TPI and 28 TPI threads for use in early CEI or later UNF threaded camshafts. The included instruction sheet covers the step by step process of fitting the Pazon PA2 electronic ignition kit.
