Hi Ben, Thanks for your review and we’re sorry to hear you had trouble with this switch gear. We’ve sold a slew of these, and this is the first we’ve heard of these challenges – it sure sounds it was giving you a hard time. While 7/8″ handlebars are stock on most Brit bikes, we know that it’s possible that the respective contours on your bike are actually a bit larger than 7/8″ in some spots. As far as Brit bikes go, whenever fitting reproduction, OEM or NOS, fettling is always needed. Even bikes coming off the original assembly lines had additional workers waiting to fix the bikes so they would actually run. The good ol’ days. The product you ordered has bullet connectors as shown in the photos. If you happen to have pin connectors, you would definitely need to change out the bullets on the switch gear wires for pins. These are intended for more than 1 application, and it may be that a Triumph uses bullets and a Norton uses pins (and vice versa!). Whether made from metal, plastic or wiring – also handle motorcycle parts with care and use the recommended settings for installation. Just like over torquing bolts can cause issues and breakage, pulling or crushing wires will cause wires to break from the solder weld. We understand that you had trouble with the bolts as well. Because these are black anodized bolts there may be some residual material on the threads. We always recommend lubricating them with an anti-seize compound to make the installation easier. Again, thanks for providing your experience with this item.
